Our first night "on the hook" was a little bouncier than we had hoped. The wind just wouldn't settle down. But we enjoyed the experience all the same. Of course, getting out in the morning was so easy with just lifting the anchor. Not so many lines and such to handle. Our first experience there, so that was good to learn.
So, the plan for today is to start out from Eau Gallie and vernture north to New Smyrna Beach for the night at a marina for some reliable sleep.
The day begins again in a stunning fashion...as you can see.... it's 6:45 ish and it's beautiful.
The waterway is beautiful along this section today. Salt marshes predominate.
All along ther marshes we see "spoils" areas that are crazy shallow. And they are everywhere! We constantly see people fishing- from the march, sitting in chairs in the water, even wading and fishing that way. Since it is Saturday, there are lots of families out with kids and dogs just hanging in the shallows.
The view from a narrow area. Dolphins around again.... we love company!
Here is our view from our overnight slip at the New Smyrna Beach City Marina. We had "company" there too peeking at us on our "back porch".
