So, "why are we in Baltimore" you may ask.... It's Trawlerfest time, that's why!
Trawlerfest is a (roughly) week-long event which combines Trawlerfest University and Trawlerfest boat show. The first part of the week (University) includes some intensive multi-day training sessions and seminars that really filled our brains. Then, at the boat show we got to check out some booths and lots of really cool boats that were on display. What fun we had! We met up with some old friends, some family, and, of course, made some new friends along the way. Great fun was had by all.
Here we were docked immediately next to where the boat show events took place. This is the "hospitality tent" where eveyone gathered for meals amd parties....
On Thursday, early in the evening, I had the distinct pleasure to witness some good ole' sailboat racing that went on in the inner harbour. My sister happens to sail in a group out of the Downtown Sailing Center whose home is quite literally next door to the Harbour View Marina which is where we were docked for the week. These sailors race J-22's weekly throughout the sailing season. Here they are racing one of the super-short courses they sail this late in the season due to the diminished daylight. Chris's boat is named "Jester" and is the one with the bright blue spinnaker.
By the way, Congratulations goes out to team Jester! They took first place for the season of racing. Applause!!!!!
